Interview Guide
In addition to the numerical score profile and profile-match statistic and plain-English narrative description of each personality and intellect dimension measured by the InsightProfiles.com assessment, the system also provides the hiring manager with a behaviorally-based interview guide to be used with the candidate.
For each of the key assets and developmental needs identified by the assessment, this interview guide provides the hiring manager with sets of questions to assit in follow-up discussions with the candidate.
For example, a low score on the Sociability dimension would produce the following section in the interview guide in the report.
Describe what you did in a situation where you were hired and had to work with people that you did not know.
- What was your approach in this situation?
- What did you feel your role was in this situation?
- Was this comfortable or uncomfortable for you? Why?
- Did the relationships develop quickly or slow for you? Why?
By using this behavior-focused method as part of the interview process, hiring managers may obtain some of the most reliable information possible in determining the qualifications of an applicant. This style of interviewing requires the candidate to provide 'real life' examples of how he/she handled various situations in the past. Such information can be highly useful, given the truism that 'past performance is always the best predictor of future performance.'
For an example of the information provided to the hiring manager by the interview guide, please see pages 7-10 of the sample feedback report that you may download.
